Prodrive reveal AMR-One in Gulf livery
Prodrive's latest Aston Martin Racing offering is as ground-breaking and as hot as ever – the rear-wheel-drive, 540bhp mid-engined, 900Kg AMR-One, wrapped in gorgeous Gulf livery. The open cockpit carbon fibre monocoque chassis has been designed and manufactured by Prodrive, featuring a two-litre, six-cylinder turbocharged and intercooled direct injection petrol engine, again designed in-house at Prodrive and with electrical components from Cosworth. This is the first time Prodrive has designed a race chassis and engine, not based on a production car, so is ground breaking stuff for the innovative British engineering firm, who are also running the MINI WRC team this year. Six cars will be built, with AMR-One set to race in the International Le Mans Cup, including Le Mans 24 Hour, with drivers Darren Turner and Stefan Mucke already confirmed. Parts include a six-speed semi-automatic pneumatic shift transmission with Xtrac gearbox, double wishbones suspension with Koni dampers, full LMP1 aerodynamic package via CFD/Totalsim, Brembo 380mm/355mm carbon six-pot brakes, TWS magnesium rims and Michelin rubber. Expect big things in its racing career... we can't wait to see it fly. Well done and good luck Prodrive!
