Jaguar E-Type 50th to feature large at Goodwood
Jaguar's iconic and beautiful E-Type, which turned 50 this year, will be at the very centre of celebrations at Goodwood Motorsport Events in 2011. The magnificent 19th Festival of Speed (1-3 July) will have a huge central feature on Jaguar and the E-Type, designed by Gerry Judah (who has been making the FOS special stages since 1997), and the Cartier 'Style et luxe' concours d'elegance will be dedicated to the E-Type – "Britain's best-loved sports car." And at the retro-fest classic Goodwood Revival event later in the Summer, (16-18 September), there will be a special one-off E-Type only, 45-minute, two driver race; the Fordwater Trophy. Lord Marsh said: "I am delighted we are able to honour Jaguar's sporting heritage and the 50th anniversary of the E-Type in particular, at Goodwood this year. Goodwood and Jaguar have always enjoyed a very close relationship, and it is entirely fitting that they should chose to celebrate these two very special anniversaries with us." Bravo!
