WRC 2011 Rally Sweden - winner Mikko Hirvonen in-car
Here's a bit of full chat in-car footage from this weekend's Rally Sweden winner, Finland's Mikko Hirvonen, in his brand new Ford Fiesta WRC. Hirvonen headed-up an all-Ford WRC podium on Sunday, with Mads Ostberg an impressive second (just 6.5s behind) and Jari Matti-Latvala in third. Citroen's Seb Ogier came in forth, with Seb Loeb in a distant sixth (having been clearing the heavy-snow off the roads as first in the stages on day one). It was a bizarre event for Petter Solberg, fifth, who had to let co-driver Chris Patterson take the wheel of his Citroen DS3 on the last stage, after losing his licence to the local police, for a speeding infringement on a public road! Poor Chris had never driven the DS3 before and lost forth place to Ogier. Bonkers! The all-new-for-2011 is alive and well, with a new manufacturer on top: Go Ford! The gravel and heat of Mexico beckon next, March 3rd to 6th. Can Ford dominate again?
