Peugeot RCZ continues Nürburgring VLN success

‘Team Peugeot RCZ Nokia’ continue their VLN Nürburgring success – recovering from a challenging start to achieve a class victory in round four of the VLN Series at the Nürburgring (May 31). This is the Kumho-shod team’s second overall win and maintains their record of finishing on the podium at every round to date. It did not start well though... following a qualifying accident that sidelined the black RCZ of Jouanny, Ayari, Perez and Cochet. Le Mans star Jouanny joined the white sister car of Bohrer, Caillet and Nett – a drive required for him to gain entry to the circuit’s upcoming 24 hour race. Bohrer’s best qualifying lap of 9:51.887 minutes (the team’s fastest so far) put the quartet in a great position and, just hours after being punted into the guardrail, Jouanny found himself part of the winning team. Not only is the Bohrer, Caillet and Nett Peugeot currently the most successful diesel-powered car in the VLN Series, it currently lies in an astonishing 18th place overall out of 800 participants. The black RCZ will be repaired in time for round five of the Series on June 11, when Jouanny will expect to complete his qualification for the 39th running of the famous 24 Hour race, in which ‘Team Peugeot RCZ Nokia’ are determined to achieve class victory. Commenting on the equipe’s latest success, Kumho’s European Motorsport Manager Steve Thompson said, “It’s great to see this well organised team continuing to successfully develop their cars and overcome any difficulties that come their way. We’re delighted with the way they get ever more out of their Kumho slick tyres en route to podium after podium. Long may it last.” For further information on Kumho and its products, log onto www.kumhotyre.co.uk. Details of the highly competitive VLN Series are available at www.vln.de. Good work Kuhmo, Peugeot and the VLN, for always producing great racing, leading up the the 24-Hour.
