Road Magazine shoots with Tim Schrick at Donington
Road Magazine's final two days of shooting with Tim Schrick and his Turbo Automagazin program for Sport 1 took place early this week at the thrilling Donington Park circuit (www.donington-park.co.uk). Road friends, RMA Track Days (www.rmatrackdays.com), kindly let us invade the amazing 'noisy' event, which saw a wealth of amazing sports, performance and race cars take to the 1.953-mile National Circuit. It was a fabulous day out. Road's Ed, Phil Royle, had a bit of four-wheel-drift turbo nutter fun on track with the new Mitsubishi Evo X FQ-330 (www.mitsubishi-cars.co.uk/evolution) with its slick Twin Clutch SST gearbox, which proved to be darn quick. And Tim Schrick's TV crew and Road Magazine were also busy shooting three phenomenal track cars: The amazing new Chevron GR8 Challenge car, built for GT racing (www.chevronracing.com) which Tim said he was "falling in love with, and is a beautiful car to drive" a Porsche 911 964 with Motec modifications from Sean Lockyear (www.seanlockyear.co.uk) which Tim described as "the best 964 he'd ever driven... perfect" and Car Planet Racing's (www.carplanetracing.com) 982bhp, 830lb ft monster of a Time Attack-winning Mitsubishi Evo which Tim said "the power is still most surprising... and it grips and stops so well." It was a stella day on track, so big thanks to all of you who made it possible. You can read all about these incredible cars in the July issue of www.roadmagazine.co.uk, out July 25th.
