Renaultsport Mégane 265 Trophy details
Welcome to Renault's fastest ever road car – the Mégane Renaultsport 265 Trophy – revealed ahead of its world debut at World Series by Renault, at the Nurburgring next weekend. It produces 15 bhp more than current Mégane Renaultsport 250, plus 20Nm extra torque at 360Nm. That's a power-to-weight ratio of 191hp per tonne. Performance is improved (very mildly) too: 0-62mph in 6 seconds exactly (instead of 6.1), and top speed 158 mph (up from 156). It comes with "Formula 1-inspired Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tyres for greater traction in both dry and wet conditions" and only 500 examples will be sold, worldwide, 50 of which destined for UK. It features: Cup chassis, Recaro seats with yellow seatbelts and detailing, 19" Speedline alloys in gloss black with red rim, standard Liquid Yellow i.d. metallic paint, 'Trophy' red decals on F1-style front blade and doors, LED daytime running lights, Renaultsport Monitor on-board performance tracking, UK numbered plaque, and comes with an optional £415 gloss Renault i.d. Diamond Black roof and free access to all Renaultsport trackdays in UK in 2012, worth circa £650. It will be priced at £27,820 OTR in the UK, with orders open 20th June and first deliveries at the end of July. Looks a pretty mean wrong-wheel-drive machine to us... in a line of great Renaultsport cars, although we'd still rather have the racing one on the left. What do you think?
