NEWS: Hayden Paddon's 1st WRC Victory: Rally Argentina
Massive congratulations to Hyundai Motorsport's find of the decade, Kiwi, all-round nice guy and special stage-eating face of modern rallying Hayden Paddon – who took his maiden WRC win in a tricky Rally Argentina this weekend – easily seeing off a final day charge by multiple-WRC winner Sebastian Ogier in his Volkswagen Motorsport Polo R. Ogier ate away at Paddon's 29-second overnight lead to within 2.9-seconds for the final power stage and looked set to take his first Rally Argentina win (the only rally he's not won!). But Hayden Paddon had other ideas, absolutely nailing it, with one of the best power stage drives ever, under incredible pressure from the world champion (& third place Andreas Mikkelsen), winning by over 11-seconds! BOOM! Go Hayden! What a dude. "I still can't believe it," he said, "words can't describe... I gave that stage absolutely everything." Expect more wins and podiums from the Hyundai ace in 2016. He's pumped! And the gauntlet is down to Ogier. Bring on the gravel of Rally Portugal next month.
