BLOG: Shell's Record-Breaking F1 Year with Scuderia Ferrari

Some really fascinating stats coming through from our pals at Shell, on a record breaking 2015 in F1 with the iconic Scuderia Ferraris – where they delivered 25% of the recorded performance gain on the power unit, thanks to their industry-leading research and boffin-led technology.

The Shell lab coat brigade has done the team proud there and have given us a few stats and quote relating to the season, as well as some really interesting films from the hangout area with Ferrari's stars here.

· Shell V-Power race fuel and Shell Helix Ultra with PurePlus Technology lubricant delivered an unparalleled 25% of total performance gain to the SF15-T Formula 1® power unit in 2015, giving almost half a second per lap, equating to an average of 30 seconds over a race distance

· Five new powerful blends of Shell V-Power race fuel were introduced to Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen’s cars throughout the 2015 season

· As part of a relentless, aggressive pursuit of performance this year, the fuel upgrades represent one of the greatest step changes offered by Shell in the history of the Technical Partnership with Scuderia Ferrari

· Shell Helix Ultra with PurePlus Technology, the first motor oil made from natural gas, helped to ensure the Ferrari V6 turbo-charged power unit was one of the most reliable on the grid in 2015

· Significant performance gain helped power Scuderia Ferrari to 14 podiums, three victories and second in the 2015 Formula 1® Constructors’ Championship
