BLOG: Our Long-Term Love Affair with Wales Rally GB & 2015 Hopes

Find out how much we love Wales Rally GB, Network Q Rally, RallyGB, RAC Rally or whatever you wish to call it or remember it as in this Road Magazine special from our last magazine on the event. Click to read. Our hopes for 2015? Well, much as we admire Volkswagen's success and love Ogier, Latvia and Mikkelsen & the Polo WRC R, it would be most fitting – in the 20th anniversary year of Colin's famous WRC victory – that his protege Kris Meeke claimed a win, or a podium (if only too boost his chances of stating in the WRC!). And wouldn't it be fabulous if fellow Brit Elfyn Evans can net one for the great man, and his old M-Sport Ford team too? Personally, we'd also like to see the off-form Thierry Neuville get his magic back in the Hyundai WRC and the in-form Hayden Paddon nail another great result for the lovely Hyundai team, who've really boosted the sport. And, just because he's like the 2015 "Rally Legend" Petter Holberg, and such a nice guy who's had a rough trot of late with his Rally Australia recce shunt, we'd like to see Mads Ostberg get a result for Citroen too. Mostly, we hope all 160+ crews stay safe and enjoy some of the greatest, purist gravel rally stages in the world and the fans enjoy all the mud, rain, wind and fog that helps makes Wales Rally GB so special.
