PRODUCT: Tough as Old Boots: The New Land Rover Smart Phone

We're not really that into phones TBH here at Road HQ. But here's one that caught our attention – mainly because it will work in remote areas (like Der Ring, or Kielder Forest!), and operate for two whole days on a full charge with constant use and it will not break when you drop it, or frazzle in the rain. In fact, this bad boy can withstand some extreme temperatures, thermal shock and mass vibration – built to be as tough as a Land Rover, because it is one... sort of.

Here's the hardcore phone highlights...
  • New Land Rover Explore outdoor adventure smartphone inspired by Land Rover Discovery
  • Explore phone works in the places other phones can’t reach and is built to cope with the toughest conditions in the world
  • The ultra-rugged phone can survive underwater and can cope with extreme temperatures, thermal shock and vibration exposure
  • Touchscreen can be controlled with gloved hands, in wet conditions and comes with its own off road mapping, compass and SOS light
  • Developed by Land Rover and the Bullitt Group the Explore phone has power for two full days of constant use
Joe Sinclair, Director of Branded Goods and Licensing, Jaguar Land Rover, said: “This is the smartphone we’d all like to own – a perfect combination of design and functionality that embodies the Land Rover DNA and enables customers to be outdoors for longer, with the confidence to go further.”

Developed by Land Rover and the Bullitt Group the Explore phone with Adventure Pack costs £599 and will be revealed at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on 26th February.
